Well, hello there crafty people! Hope your Christmas and New Year has been fab. Here in NZ, we are enjoying a rather impressive Summer, and with school going back for the year next week, and heading back to work, it was fun to work on this very cool Southern Girls challenge a couple of weekends ago.
We have some new faces in the Southern Girls Design Team, and in Team Lou – so do make sure you go say hello to the team – they really do have lovely examples to inspire you with circular embellishments!
Yep, the Team Lou challenge is all about using circles on your project – circular images, sequins, enamel dots, brads – you name it – if it’s a circle, it fits the theme!
My layout was inspired by the fun Paper Issues group on Facebook, which issued a challenge just before I headed off to a crafty weekend with friends last week. It was a sketch which they called “the Kelly” after one of their lovely team members. But with a name like that, it was pretty obvious I had to take part!!
I had a lot of fun with the circular elements, with the doilies really inspiring me – and it was such an easy sketch to just use! Plus I got to go back and use a rather cute photo from ohhhh, a fair while ago!
You’ll see my circles in the doilies, the label stickers, and the enamel dots – not to mention the spots behind my title!
We have two fantastic sponsors for this circular challenge: Krafters Cart, a fab NZ store that has a huge selection of crafting brands, and All Dressed Up – you’ll see a few examples of images used by some of the Team Lou girls.
We love to see any paper craft projects, so whether you love to make cards, scrap a layout, art journal, make mini albums, or do anything with pretty paper and fun embellishments – you are so welcome to join in our challenges. We’d love to see how you use our challenge to inspire your creations…. come join the fun.
