Day 8 of 29

Grabbed this one looking out to the west. It’s our view of the surrounding hills and bush reserve. I was thinking how brown our hills are looking, but I guess with the native bush it still looks more green than it does brown. The tops of the hills that you can see are farmed. I’m pretty sure it is mostly cows as there is a time in the year where you can hear the moo-ing carried over the crisp, clear and still air. And as I understand it, it’s government land that is used for grazing.

The bottom structure is the roof of the Mr’s cubby house sitting on our bottom deck. As you can see, the deck itself is about to be reclaimed by the bush any day – the greenery has been rather vigourous of late down there. I’m all for calling in a spray or two of Agent Orange. I hear it makes an excellent defoliant on jungle vegetation…. 😉

  1. Gosh that is a beautiful setting you live in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not used to seeing all that green! Well I used to be, we live in the Waikato, which is normally lush, bright green. Not now, we are in our worst drought since records started in 1906. I look out the window in the morning and have to do a geographical check to make sure I am not back living on the Canterbury Plains again, lol. It is sooooooooooo brown, we are feeding out our winter feed, sileage etc. now in February.

Praying the forecast for rain next week eventuates and doesn’t bypass us as the recent forecast rain did.

How are you for water? Are you on tank supply?

  2. Thats a fabulous view – you are very lucky. We are slowly being invaded by another shopping complex and a motorway – it used to be we were the last houses before heading rural. Not so anymore.

  3. Hee hee agent orange, naughty 🙂 Love the view it looks so peaceful and dare I say it, so green for this time of the year, beautiful!! have a great weekend 🙂
